Middle Eastern

This costume I call "Green Mint". It took me several months to put together. The fabric, appliques and fringe all came from different places. So it was the collecting of the various pieces that was time consuming. Once I had what I felt were all the parts needed, I began to design. The skirt is 6 yds. of white and 6 yds. of green chiffon.
this is my business card
ooh i love how chiffon twirls!
The first three photos are of one of my very first costumes. My mother and I made this one together. The next three are of a troupe costume with a Matahari top and straight skirt made of black velvet. The two musicians are a part of Sahnobar's band, Eric Liebner on the flute and Joel Swan on the doumbek. The last photo is from an SDE performnace at a Downtown Art Festival in Gainesville, Florida (1997). This costume uses the same Matahari top combined with Harem pants made of scarves (a tedious ordeal to say the least). The head scarf is of the same fabric as the pants.
This costume is the first and only one that I have purchased. It was made by Pharonics of Egypt. The entire costume is beaded and highlited by rhinestones.
Some photos of miscellaneous performances. The photo in the middle is when I was 21 years old at a performance at the good ole Orange and Brew on the University of Florida Campus.

I finally purchased a really nice real sword. A scimitar. Yes it is sharp, inspite of my taking
the very sharp edge off of it. This is from the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire, Gainesville, Florida (1999 and 2000).
A benefit for R-Club at the Renaissance Vinoy in St. Petersburg, Florida. It was a celebrity fashion
show. I and the nice gentleman with the snake performed on the runway during the evening wear fashions.
