A Full Show

This would be an evening of Belly Dance comprised of 2 to 4, 20-40 minute sets each. There would be 2 to 3 costume changes. The show would be performed to recorded music, that I would provide. An appropriate sound system would be a must, this you would need to provide. If you have arranged for a band for the evening, I will be happy to discuss music and set arrangement with them. If you do not have contacts for live music, I would be able to provide some numbers for you to call. We can discuss what type of setting you wish to create for your event, so that we may choose the best dance styles (i.e. cabaret, folkloric, sword, veil, zill, etc.) that would be best for your audience. Cost $250 - 350.

Tipping
Customarily tipping is a gesture of appreciation and is the most appropriate way to show your enjoyment of the dancer's artistry. Here are some ways that are appropriate to tip a dancer:
- Shower the dancer with money
- Hand money to dancer or wait staff
- Place in marked tip jar

Belly Dancing: by the Sahnobar Dance Ensemble

Briefly About the Sahnobar Dance Ensemble
The SDE is a company of five dancers who have been performing under that name since 1995; some with other groups prior to that. Our dancers specialize in traditional and contemporary dances of the Middle East and Greece. This includes folk (line) dances and Oriental ("belly") dance. The SDE has been featured at: Walt Disney World's Epcot Center, Universal Studios, The Florida International Museum's Grand Openings for "Splendors of Ancient Egypt" and "Alexander the Great", the Florida Folk Festival, the St. Petersburg International Folk Fair Society's (SPIFFS) International Folk Fair, WMNF's Tropical Heatwave Concert in Ybor City(Tampa's Community Radio Station), the Alachua Music Harvest Festival and more. For more info, go to our website at: sahnobar.com

One Time Performance

To make your evening complete and entertaining, I highly recommend a troupe performance of at least three dancers. This type of show would be good for parties of all types, wedding receptions, festivals, etc. It would include group numbers and solos. Your evening will be filled with beautifully coordinated costumes (usually designed and created by the members) and several costume changes. These type of shows usually run about 45 minutes and would include: zill, cane and veil dances. Depending on your event, the focus of the dances may be folkloric (more discreet costuming), cabaret (flashy beaded costumes) or a combination. We have recorded sets ready to go (an appropriate sound system would be a must). Prices start at $200 per dancer. Traveling expenses would need to be discussed depending on your location.

Entire Show

Occasionally Sahnobar puts on it's own 1 1/2 to 2 hour show. We showcase all our latest choreographies and costumes and perform some of our audience's old favorites. The price for such a show would depend greatly upon the venue itself and it's location. If you would like to bring such a show to your area or event please contact Sahnobar at: info@sahnobar.com or (407) 342-8494, P.O. Box 90332, Gainesville, FL 32607.

Medieval Faires
The Sahnobar Dance Ensemble has had a presence at the Annual Hoggetowne Medieval Faire in Gainesville, Florida since 1995. You may also see us performing at the Lady of the Lakes Ren Faire. located in Tavares, Florida and the Clermont Highland Games and Ren Faire, in Clermont, Florida. If you need dancers and musicians for an event in your area, we are equipped with a functional Bedouin tent, authentic costumes and the stamina to perform ten shows in a weekend under varying weather conditions. This type of event would require a contract and the price would be negotiated. See above contact information.

Polynesian

The Luau
This type of show has been performed for private luaus around the pool, at public schools for cultural events, yacht clubs, etc. For many years now, I have performed this show alone. The show consists of recorded music. It begins with an Ancient Hawaiian and a modern Hawaiian dance. Then after changing costumes, I perform a couple of Maori dances from New Zealand (including a poi ball routine), one more costume change and we are in Tahiti. Audience members are encouraged to join in. I pull up a few select people and put skirts on them, much to the enjoyment of their peers. This show is about 30 minutes long, includes props and background music. The price is based upon the performance location being within thirty minutes from my home. Cost $175

The Luau with Fire and all
If you are looking for a complete Polynesian show with live band, fire dancer, several girls, contact me at (727) 643-5517 or k@hip-experssions.com.

International Folk

Tour the World in an Evening

International Folk dancing consists of line dances, couple dances, circle dances, etc. A show of this type requires a minimum of four dancers. A show may consist of dances from just one area (i.e. German for an Oktoberfest) or several countries. There are several performing groups that I am familiar with. Contact me if you want this type of show. I can either assemble a show for you or put you in touch with someone who can.
